I'm going to put in a heater/defroster on my Hewes. A 2003 sportsman with a 175 merc sport jet, Can I put in a "T" with a two way valve on the out hose off the motor, and run it through the core then just let it dump back in to the lake. Or do I need to make a closed system like a car?

I have a 179 Sea runner I think my top speed with 4 people is about 35mph. I did not try it with a 75. With the 90 I have no problem getting it to plane with 4 big guys. FYI, I have four sets, while trolling three people is great. Four gets a little crowded. Rock fish is the same. When I have four onboard, someone ends up on the front. Two people no problem. ItÂ?s a great boat, trailers easily. At times I would like more room in the ocean but if satisfies everything else.
